Mad Hatter Indeed.
The line between madness and genius is truly razor thin. It's as thin as whether or not you succeed. A reverse on 4th and 1 to keep the drive going and keep the ball away from Alabama. You've got to be kidding me. But you must give the devil his due when it works. The bayou loves Les again and his grass eating ways. If the Cam Newton did this or Cam Newton did that allegations are a distraction twice, then LSU has a chance at the title game. I say twice b/c the War Eagles beat LSU earlier this season. I don't know where I stand on the title game. I'm from the Pac whatever and love to watch video game like offenses in display, so I want the Ducks to make it. I blame Sho and VDW for jinxing Cam as well. Since they've already opened Pandora's box, I'll say that he has been the most impressive battering ram at QB that I've seen in awhile (I still think that Denard is more electrifying though) so it would be cool to seem them play the Ducks. On the other hand, I love to root for the underdog so I'd be giddy to see TCU make it. They put the beat down on a very strong Utah team at Utah and backed up the semi for good measure. I don't know why Gary Patterson doesn't have "big" time colleges knocking on his door. Georgia should be courting him. Big E sweated out a win against the Cyclones. Congrats Ash on your upset over the Sooners. I don't think that even you saw that coming. Shen should be celebrating this season b/c I see a lot of NFL love coming to Luck/Harbaugh. I hope that your Cardinal doesn't get passed over for a major bowl game due to an "obligation" to conference champions. Weak. VDW's Spartans righted the ship and look to finish the season w/ 1 loss. Obviously, you'll be rooting for the Hawkeyes against the Kras. No offense Kras but I think that it would mean more for VDW to take the conference this season than you b/c I'm sure that it was title or bust this season. Sorry about your Bears Cliff. I think that you've got a gimme against the Aggies if it makes you feel any better. Here's something that might make you feel better. I'm referring to the background, you pervs.
Why blame Shipley when you can look at yourself and wonder why you didn't start Cassel.
Henne on the road at Baltimore or Cassel on the road against the Raiders sans their best cornerback? C'mon Man! Henne has been horrible of late if you didn't know. The game between Joshua and Ash was the game of the week b/c it wasn't decided until the final Bengal drive on MNF. Josh has had a horrible year and he almost didn't get the win if it weren't for Ash's poor decision and the disappearance of the Cowboys Defense. Brandon Jackson and the rest of the Packers took them to task on SNF. It was beyond embarrassing and forced Jerry's hand in firing bumble coach. Ash suffered his 3rd loss in a row and dropped to 3rd place w/ Towns right behind him. He's got 4 games left in the season but at least he has the first tie breaker against me so far. Josh, here's a video that represents the Cows D (in yellow) lately.
Rivers beat Cliff twice.
Rivers joined Peyton as the most impressive QB's this season. They keep losing players around them but they keep on scoring. T squared has had his most impressive season in awhile and he takes the division lead. He also owns the tie breaker against me and against Vish so far. Very good sir. Very good. This game was also settled on MNF w/ Mendenhall ringing the victory bell for Tim. Cliff got the honor or seeing Rivers come back against his own Texans in H town. Double whammy for Cliff. Schaub also had a bad game to add to Cliff's misery. The Chens got single digit production from everyone that doesn't wear a Packer jersey. Here's something that might make you feel better again.
Go Giants, Go!!!
Big E is loving the Eli to Nicks connection. The rest of us can't wait for the cold weather and winds to affect Eli. Peyton is the bomb! I didn't see the game but from everything that I've read, the Browns took it to the Pats. People can go on about Colt's surprising rookie season but w/o a strong running game, he's toast. I don't know if Towns has the record for owning players to have a career game or not but I can recall him owning Crayton years ago (I woke up from an over night shift to hear Crayton career game and cringed) and Britt and James Jones this season. Big E was even smart enough to pick up McMichael when Gates was ruled out. There is an idea that if a team relies on a position very heavily, then the back up becomes valuable too. Please see McMichael and Tamme this year. If Tim believes this, which means he would have to read this, then he should pick up Gore back up Anthony Dixon. Vish tastes defeat for the 2nd time in a row and has to be hoping for some RB love soon. I wonder why in the world he would start the Seahawk def against the Giants even if they were playing in Seattle. If you have a poor offense and you're playing from behind, you're very susceptible to turnovers galore. It wouldn't have mattered this week but could cost you in a tie breaker scenario.
Very prophetic.
Shen called it. He said that Towns would get the high score of the week w/ James Jones. Very strong. I didn't think that the Cows would roll over that badly but Shen knew better and got the benefit of Mr. Rodgers. Shen may not have his services this week due to a bye but he has Bradshaw at home against the barely breathing Boys. He's back on top of the leader board and if Jahvid finds his swagger, then look out even year curse. I wonder how the so far successful Colt McCoy/Cleveland Brown marriage has affected the Shen household in Austin. Have you gone on ebay to get a McCoy signed Browns jersey yet? Kras gets the loss and I wonder why he hasn't been trying to trade one of his WR for more consistent help at RB. He's only 1 game behind me so maybe I shouldn't give him any helpful advice. You're both Dads now. Would you do this to your kids?
Welcome back Desean!!
VDW has a large steady horse in All Day. As long as Vick and Desean are healthy, he's got the makings of 50 plus points in 3 players each week. He also has Rodney White and the disappointing Colston. It's not a surprise that he's got the 2nd most points in the league. I wonder if that's why he's paid attention/cared about tie breakers now. Oh yeah, I said there was a very big "if" around Stafford's health. Thank you. Sho is still firmly entrenched in the losers and Shen division. He even pulled a Moretti and failed to start a RB. It didn't matter this week. But if you're hoping to run the table and a lose the rest of the regular season for Shen, you probably should have starters at each position. This has nothing to do w/ this game but can someone please get Cookie Monster to rehab?
Well on my way to another 4th place spot.
Thankfully, my MVP has continued to be the best fantasy player this season. Arian Nation. Thankfully, I didn't play 3 other teams w/ mega scores this week. I still defy the fantasy gods and say BRING IT!!! Take away Miles and I'll go Dez. I've already gone my sports joy for several years so I'm impervious. I'll even go w/o fantasy basketball this year. Ben gets the loss and sees Collie get injured again. I'm all for the protection of all players and I've gone on record about my fear of someone that I care about playing on the line. But football is still football. I don't know how you can expect defenders to veer off at the last millisecond and guess how the ball carrier will move. His next game will be tough too w/ Collie and Gates both out. Welker isn't Welker w/o the deep threat. Lance is on a bye. It may be an ugly week for Ben but not as ugly as this video. Maybe scary is more appropriate.

World Series Champs.
I don't know if anyone noticed or cared but the newsletter has been absent for the last 2 weeks. It's b/c I didn't want to take a chance on waking up from my incredible dream. I didn't want to jinx anything by either saying something about my Giants or making a point of not mentioning my Giants. I did something that was very very hard for me to do...shut my mouth. I don't get into baseball until the last 2 months of the season b/c 162 games is too much time and emotion for me. We caught the Padres but didn't clinch until the last game against the same Pads. We were underdogs against the Braves but had the honor of seeing Bobby Cox get his final ovation. We were huge underdogs against Ben's Phils and the famed Halladay, Hamels, and Oswalt trio (dubbed H2O). But as they say, you bring your best and we'll bring ours. This time our best was better. Once again, we were underdogs against the local Rangers. I got a lot of grief for going orange in DFW but was well rewarded in the end. 1st championship for the San Francisco Giants. The bay area and I don't count the NY Giants championships b/c that was NY and we're SF. It doesn't have the national press or lore of the Cubs and Red Sox pain but our 50 some odd years of disappointment was our burden. It has been lifted by the exact opposite of our Barry Bonds teams. We had no everyday superstars. Eventually, our best power hitter was someone we claimed off waivers just to keep him from getting to the Padres. But we had outstanding pitching from our starters to our bullpen as All Stars Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins, Josh Hamilton, Vlad Guerrero, Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz can attest to. I hope that it's truly a sign that PED's are gone and we'll now see the golden age of pitching and I hope that my Giants will be well represented for several years. And once again, THE SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS ARE THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS.
Back to the College Game
Now back to our regular programming. Auburn and Oregon switched places. Newton takes the lead for the Heisman. Apparently Bo knows Heisman and he says Newton. Oregon's offense was too much for USC. You can score on the Ducks but you can't keep up w/ their offense. The Ducks beat douche bag's team and their mascot can dance better than their cheerleader. Sorry VDW. This was the test for your Spartans and they just weren't good enough. I think that you'd take a 1 loss regular season to the Hawkeyes if you were offered it 3 months ago. Missouri fell from the unbeaten as well to Big E's Huskers. I wonder if the Huskers are wondering why they couldn't get their act together against Texas. Boise St and TCU won but it's ultimately a moot point. They'll need another loss from Alabama for either to get a chance at the championship. Congrats Cliff. I hope that you savor this season and your win at Austin.
Jacob Tamme who?
Our game of the week had our top 2 teams playing for numero uno status on MNF. Peyton showed why he's the best in the business. No Austin Collie. No Dallas Clark. No Joseph Addai. No problem. I'll get a TD to Tamme and get Shen the win. I think he had some help from the incompetence known as Kubiak. Obviously, I was busy watching the San Francisco Giants become World Series Champions. From what I read, Kubiak tried to pass early and often and Arian Foster had all of 8 carries in the 1st half. This is after Foster ran over and through the Colts for hundreds of yards earlier in the season. Unless the Texans make it to the playoffs and represent H town well, I think he's done. Shen gets the win but has to be one of the odder league leaders that we've had this late in the season. He's been outscored by 8 points for the season. My analysis is that he's scoring just enough points to win games. It's all that matters but I wonder how confident he is that he'll be able to keep it up throughout the playoffs. I say that he's in b/c of the sad sacks that are in his division. Vish tastes defeat and has to be wondering why the Ocho isn't getting more of Palmer's love.
Cody Ross gets NLCS MVP. Cody who?
For some reason, the Phils kept on pitching to Ross who was a 1 man gang against the Braves. He was the only consistent hitter for the Giants and luckily, he was red hot.
Randy Moss what ?!?
This was game of the week 1B. It was the closest game but we could watch the drama unfold on MNF between Shen and Bish. There were multiple reasons for the Vikings to let go of Randy. His lack of effort on a possible TD that would have given Cliff the win. His post game love-in for the opposing/winning coaches. His profanity laced tirade at a local Mom and Pop restaurant that catered the Vikings lunch...something about I wouldn't feed this %&*@ crap to my *$%^ dog. But when you buy a bag filled w/ douche, are you really expecting it to turn into a bag of flowers when you get home? Childress is also on the pink slip express. Cliff joins Josh in suckville. At least Cliff has his Bears to cheer for. VDW barely gets the win. For the record, I never said drop Stafford for Kitna. I said that Kitna would be insurance "if" Stafford wasn't healthy. If VDW could get something from Ronnie B, he'd be a dangerous force. He may have found another QB "if" Stafford can stay healthy.
I talk s%$# so I can eat it.
I open my trap and get a loss. It's what I deserve but at least I go down w/ the 3rd highest score of the league. It's very VDW of me. I also want to tip my hat to Kubiak for not going w/ a winning philosophy. I get the added insult of Mt. Vernon's injury to my karma. Any my great match up w/ the Broncos passing attack against my own sad sack 9ers also blew up in my face. It's alright. I say bring it. My team is that strong and deep. Meanwhile, T squared gets the prize for the week and can thank the imploding Cows as MSW had a career day against them. I understand Jerry's point that no team has been successful after an in year coaching change. But there has to be some accountability for this fiasco and that should fall on Wade. Prediction: Norv Turner is the new coach after he gets canned in San Diego. He's not a big name and has underachieved but he's proven that he can get offenses to work and Jerry can boss him around. I don't think that he could do that w/ any big name coach.
In his 10 year career, Aubrey Huff never had a sacrifice bunt.
He laid down a picture perfect bunt to move runners over w/ 1 out. 1 batter later, Edgar did his thing.
Sho can probably talk more about Huff's unique personality from his Oriole days. But apparently Huff was rocking the red thong as a lucky charm. I guess it ended up being magically delicious.
Kenny Britt what ?!?
Big E must have shuddered when he heard of Britt's injury. The early word is that it isn't good and that's why they're willing to roll the dice on Randy. At least CJ2K had the video game TD of the week. And Hakeem the dream Nicks comes back. Bleemia gets the win thanks to his stalwarts in Peyton and Gates. Is there a way that we can reward winning teams in the future so Peyton can have greater value in fantasy? For example, we name a captain for our team and if that player is in our starting lineup and his team wins in real life, then Ben can add an additional 5 points to the score? All the news isn't good for Ben though as Gates has tore the plantar fascia of his right foot. Every step that you take is on hot needles when you have plantar fasciitis. I would guess that tearing it is much worse. Wes Welker has also gone down the tubes w/ Moss's trade.
Edgar hat hit all of like 3 HR's during season and 3 stints on D.L.
I lost it after that b/c Timmy was dealing and I knew that we had done it. Leslie says if I'm not that emotional at the wedding, then she'll get upset.
Blount sucker punches Ash.
Blount went off on the Cards in Arizona. I don't think that anyone saw that day coming. I'm sure that Ash didn't. This wasn't a great game between Ash and Sho as Ash was doing his best Josh impression. The game between the Bucs and Cards was a lot more entertaining from a scoreboard standpoint. It came down to the wire and the Cards have themselves to blame for 2 TAINT's. I think that Sho will also be upset after the Moss trade b/c Percy was getting more room to operate w/ defenses worried about the deep threat. Romo's injury will be the end of Ash unless Cassell can go lights out. It's hard to compete w/o a good QB each week. I don't know why Romo is still on his team. Ash will be praying for a Ray Rice all the time offense for the Ravens and even then, he'll need a lot of help outside of Andre Johnson. Sho, what are your comments on the Donovan is too fat/not smart enough to run a 2 minute offense but Rex who's Rex is.
Last Out at Kick Ass Bar where I'm from.
Thank you Bill Simmons. Yancy's is awesome and they closed down it's block and DJ's set up music outside for the people.
Josh loses.
Yet he still has a high score prize. Single digit scores from his team and 1 zilch. Ugly. Someone take a gun to Josh's team and put it out of it's misery. Hopefully, the trade for Forte will give you a fighting chance at RB. I'm sure that he's sickened by Schaub's underwhelming season and would rather jettison him and ride the Freeman express. Donald Driver, Deion Branch, Derrick Mason, and Roy E. Williams would have been a good fantasy squad 5 years ago. Sorry Josh. I know you like the oldies but they eventually get old. Kras goes off Terrell, Lloyd, and Fitz would have beat Josh on their own. He's also tied for the top in our division now. You'll have to find another RB b/c I think Cadillac has lost his job to Blount and Addai will be out for another week.

First of all, congrats to VDW. I knew that you could score against the Wolverines but I didn't think that you could keep Denard in check. Would you have delayed surgery so you could have watched this game, VDW? You get to face Ron Zook and the Illini are better than I expected as evidenced by the beat down in Happy Valley. Or the Nitany Lions are really not worthy of national recognition anymore. I respect my elders and everything but the writing has been on the wall for Joe Pa for a few years now. I hope that he has enough security in his legacy at Penn St to go out on his own terms. He should look at Bowden's exit as a lesson. VDW, I hope that your Spartans aren't reading the press clippings about Rose Bowl talk too early as opposed to concentrating on the next opponent. If your coach is healthy, I'm sure that he'll make sure that they focus on the next week. Kras is 2nd happiest of our group as the Tide went down and left the Buckeyes as the top team in the land this week. The Illinois win makes the Buckeyes close win over them look better. But the Seminole beating of Miami makes the Buckeye win over the Hurricanes look less than impressive. But if you win out it will be hard for you to miss out on the National Championship unless the big 10 falls flat on its face. It's hard to be a TCU/Boise St fan. They have to schedule and find 3 BCS conference teams for their non conference schedules and win out to have a chance at championship talk. This is the part where Sho says that SEC games have almost nothing but top teams each week so there's no comparison between TCU or Boise St schedules. Speaking of Sho, he was the 3rd happiest in our group until later Saturday night. His old ball coach came up w/ his yearly surprise and beat the previously #1 team in the land. The Gamecocks had the offensive firepower and came up w/ the 1 handed catch to overwhelm the Tide defense. Sho had to be beaming w/ pride at the time. Until his Gators were beaten by the Tigers. It was their first back to back loss in what seems like forever to the Urban nation. The brilliant/incredibly lucky Les Miles play calling continues. For those of you who are too busy to stare at TV all day, here's a clip
Unfreaking believable. I'll give the devil his due w/ having the stones to go for it on 4th down. I can even see the logic w/ a fake FG b/c I don't think anyone truly believes that the offense is reliable. But a no look over the shoulder toss by the placeholder that lands perfectly on the ground? It doesn't go beyond the placeholder so it's not an incomplete forward pass? It's a football and it lands on the right spot on the ball so it bounces straight up into the kicker's hands while he's running? How many souls does this guy have to sell? Sho, comments? Shen was at work so he didn't get to see it but he became the 3rd happeist on Saturday night. Stanford marched down the field w/ a little over 1 minute left and beat douche bag Kiffin's Trojans. Unfortunately, the Cardinal defense let the Trojans march down the fiedl on the prior possession for a TD to get the lead too. Your offense can score but a suspect defense leaves you vulnerable to a lesser team that gets a tipped ball or two or receives a good call or two. I'm worried b/c after back to back losses in the Pac 10/12, a pissed off Trojan team will be chomping at the bit to take it out on my Cal Bears. Big E, you already played before Saturday night so you weren't eligible for the happiest dude award. But you get some T Magic props. Too bad you didn't have anything close to his offensive prowess last year. You're a very strong team w/ Bo again. But can you imagine if you had Suh leading the D and T Magic leading the O? Did you just pee yourself a little?
My teams so sh!!++y that I need 2 toilets.
The tides have really turned on Josh as he sits winless at 0-5. But it could be worse if you had to use this toilet all the time. Has he ever had a shot at the top pick in our fantasy draft in the past? Where are you Joshua? No comments? Are you going to fire yourself? Much like my 9ers, maybe a coaching change is in the works. Are the M & L combo too busy w/ school to help you out? It can't get much worse for you at this point in time. Mason and Garcon have been horrible so far. Schaub has been a disappointing 3rd round pick. Maybe you should have gone w/ Romo and stayed true to your Cows love. Does Stacy know that you bypassed Romo for Schaub? VDW gets the win in the battle for Stacy despite Vick's injury. He also gets to see his Lions "officially" win for the first time in forever w/ VDW's Shaun Hill. (My brain still says that they beat the Bears earlier this year.) He's also doing quite well in the handicapping game. On the other hand, I need to start doing opposite George b/c I'm tied at the bottom. Prior to our draft, VDW and I agreed that All Day was a better #1 pick this year. It may sound like Monday Morning QB and CJ2K may end up being the better pick but I want to see more than 1 stellar year before I think that you can do it again.

I couldn't get the video on here but here's the website where a pretty young lady has some words of advice for Shenanigans and for the rest of us. Look for playboy fantasy football. SFW. It's a good thing I'm already engaged and all or I might go all stalker on someone. Hot and speaks and seems to know fantasy football?

Cal beats Stanford. (It's the only time I can say it this year.)
Shen finally went down this week as he couldn't beat me w/ my own Cal Bears this year. He paid a karmic price as Rodgers may miss a game due to concussion and Jermichael Finley got knocked out early in the game and may be out for the rest of the season. Shen's backups at QB and TE? We'll find out after waiver wire Wednesday. The jury is still out on Megatron's shoulder too. At least the rest of his division lost so he still has a 2 game lead. I assume the top dog status for our league now w/ the most total points. I've actually been pretty consistent too.
Ash beats his sensei
I'm sure that Ash was crying tears of joy at the Raiders/Chargers game. I may have the most points but Ash has the least holes on this team. The Ravens finally remembered to feed the ball to Rice and stopped the stupid McGahee vulture dance for at least 1 week. Bush is making a come back and the Raiders won't be in a rush to get Run DMC back. How did you people let Michael Bush fall to Ash on waivers? Obviously, I'm a 9ers fan but I'm glad that the Raiders looked like an NFL team again. I wonder how tired San Diego is w/ the yearly Chargers slow start. Ash is also strongest at WR w/ Andre Johnson, Macolm "who's V Jax?" Floyd, and the return of Holmes. Ash is set up to have the strongest run barring injury and bye weeks. He gets the high prize of the week too. Bleemia suffers another loss and drops another game behind Vishnal. "If Vish ever beats me in anything, ..." was Ben's exact quote years ago if I remember correctly. The Peyton/Collie show was actually neutered by a very effective Cheifs D. To be fair, Collie was playing hurt. And apparently Manningham is on the side of milk carton.
Kras is coming...
Kras continues his strong showing w/ contributions from everyone except from his QB and he still hit triple digits. The arrival of Mad Max didn't hurt Fitz either as far as I can tell so that's great news. Hopefully, Addai is more sore vs hurt. He has the much better Steve Smith too. I should have learned. Annoying. Sho had a decent but not good enough showing this week especially w/ the Pats bye week. Garrard surprised me and did better than my recommendation, Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even w/ the Lynch Mob gone, I still say that CJ won't be a regular fantasy impact though. Hopefully, Moss's return will open up the middle of the field for Percy. I think that the video represents Sho's team. It's talented and all but at the end of the day, it's still a dog regardless of the outfit that you put on it.
Here comes Big E.
Erin is taking the dump and T squared is the toilet.Big E has made it back to back wins w/ a lot of help from the NYG and CJ2K's TD's. Big E made the call of the week by getting Eli and got the double bonus w/ Hakeem's big day. I still can't believe how horrible the Texans looked at home. Is Duane Brown that important to their offensive line? He's the LT and he's been suspended due to "performing enhancing steroids." I blame Vish for going back home to H town. Cliff, our mantra is "stupid Vish." Tim falls from the upper half of the league w/ a huge thud and it's what he gets for taking advantage of me in the Dez and something something for Gonzo. You won't read this so I'll waste my time and say that I have no idea what to do w/ Sims Walker. Everything I've read gives me no clue about his consistency from week to week. At least you get Mendenhall back.
Vish Wins in the Battle for H Town.
Vish continues to lead his division but won't bring it up until/if he makes the playoffs. We play and the winner could be top in the division depending on what happens w/ TBDBITL. LDT is continuing his renaissance and LaShady and the rest of the Eagles, including Vish's Eagle D made my 9ers look bad. I don't know how many times the 9ers defenders fell for a juke move. Every Eagle ball carrier looked like Barry Sanders. Sad! Alex Smith is horrible and I don't know how he has any non blood relative supporters. If you're running sideways/backwards to your left and the defender is on the right side of your chest as he's making a tackle, do you think it's wise to try and bring the ball up w/ your right arm caught in between you and the defender? The answer is fumble returned for a TD by the Eagle D. Once again, he's better in shotgun b/c he CAN'T read the defense quick enough and he makes HORRIBLE DECISIONS. Ladies and gentlemen, your winless 49ers. Time to go in reverse and go all in for Luck/Harbaugh. I say this as a Cal Bear too. Cliff suffers another loss and only has himself to blame. The Panthers are in shambles and Cutler was out so Forte was going to be the key. Duh! Marcedes Lewis has been the Jags TD machine and the Bills are winless for a reason. Duh, duh! If M & L won't help Josh, maybe they can help you out. I don't know what's going w/ Greg Jennings either. Maybe you can send a big FTD flower arrangement to Rodgers and say it was from Jennings. Explain the picture of Snooks, btw.

The College Scene
Sorry Sho. But there's always a price to be paid. The recent years of Florida success had a lot to do w/ Tebow. Unfortunately, his replacement doesn't fit the Tebow offense. Your deepest fears came to fruition as the Tide mack trucked you. Much like in Austin, you should be developing this group of players for a title run next year. Kras lived through a scare as Pryor and company had a much closer game than the score would indicate. Kras, could your team be reading the papers too much and think that a #2 ranking means a gimme against all non ranked teams? The most entertaining 1st half belonged to Stanford/Oregon game. Chip Kelly made a great call to go for the onside kick after scoring to make it 21-10 w/ the Ducks trailing. Luck was rolling and Stanford had all the momentum. The Ducks got the ball and scored to cut the deficit to 21-17. The Owasu injury was big but I don't know if it would have been only a matter of time before the Ducks seized control. The Ducks just go at you and at you and at you w/ all that speed. It's very entertaining to watch. I know that the season is still early but Oregon's offense can beat any defense right now. I almost put $ on Oklahoma b/c of the UT's embarrassing loss to UCLA at home. I think Cal can give F'UCLA a good fight on neutral ground and I think Cal is a fraud. I think Oklahoma isn't great but is definitely talented enough on both sides of the ball to whip Cal. Therefore Oklahoma can beat the daylights out of UT. The spread was only 3 1/2 for Oklahoma and I have enough ppl in Vegas to place bets for me. But my past has taught me that I'm horrible when it comes to spreads. But I'm stupid enough to go in w/ VDW's Jefe crew to guess on the NFL. I think $50 is good value for entertainment from week 4 to the end of the season. Hopefully, I'll do better than 1 correct out of 4 next week. Speaking of VDW, congrats on the big win over the Badgers. Maybe your team's success will keep you from crying over the poor luck of your fantasy team. And good luck against Denard Robinson. For those of you who don't know, ask somebody. This kid is a TD waiting to happen w/ his feet and can throw the ball much better than college versions of Terrell Pryor, Tebow, Vince Young and Michael Vick. It's not a perfect pro style pass but he's shown much better accuracy w/ the deep ball than I would have expected. He leads the nation in rushing yards and he's a QB. He's responsible for something like 999,999 yards out of 1,000,001 yards of total offense for the Wolverines. It's a good thing b/c they don't play a lick of defense. VDW, I don't know if you can stop Denard but I think you can keep up on offense though. Unfortunately, Denard puts himself at risk so I can definitely see him missing a few games due to injury. It's a shame though b/c I'd love to see him keep up at even 1/2 of his current pace. He already has 1000 yards passing and 900 rushing through just 5 games. Think of using pre dog fighting Vick on Madden. Les Miles is a lucky man and should get a lottery ticket. He's undefeated but no one believes it. I tried to cheer up Sho and Shen by telling them that douche bag Lane Kiffin lost. Sho wasn't buying. Then I tried to cheer them up by letting them know that Coming to America was playing. One of the top non Princess Bride quotes: The royal penis is clean.
This was truly the game of the weak.
In a battle between the blind and the deaf, there has to be a victor. I apologize for insulting the deaf and blind for comparing them to these two sad sacks. And sad is the kindest description of the Bears O line. Cutler was sacked 9 times in the first half. He was beaten so badly that he was knocked out of the game and posted – 2.4 fantasy points. His back up was also beaten to a pulp and the 3rd QB got called in for don’t get killed duty. He’s apparently a local kid from Forney that went to school w/ 1 of Leslie’s drunken nurse friends as I was told when we were hanging out a bar that sits across from the Slip Inn. Ahh…the memories and lack of them. Anyways, I’m sure that Cutler doesn’t remember much of the game and I don’t know how he’s allowed to play this weekend. But it’s his scrambled brain, not mine. The game between big E and Cliffy had these fantasy points scored: -2.4(Cutler), 4.4 (CJ2K), 3.5, 0.5, 3.9 (Hasselbeck), 3.3. 1.5, and 0 (Randy Moss). Someone had to win by default but the previously winless Towns will take it. Both teams are in desperation mode. We only have 9 games left in the regular season and Cliff is 3 games behind the undefeated Shen. At least Big Ben comes back in 2 weeks and Randy’s arrival in Favre country could mean some deep ball love. The newest Viking may be the spark that Erin’s Favre needs to get things going.
Going back to the Old School.
Kras went to the way back machine and was able to get previous performances from Addai and T.O. This had to be a surprise to Bleemia as this 1 week score from TBDBITL was the total for his previous 2 weeks combined. Kras gets the high score and may have some hope for Fitz if Mad Max gets the call in the desert. Ben gets the loss and I wonder if he’s got some mixed feelings about Kolb. On the one hand, it means that Celek gets some love now. On the other hand, it means that the Eagles are less likely to win…unless they’re facing my 9ers.
Futbol curse.
Krotchua and I finished in the top 3 of the World Cup competition this summer. We probably know from zero to zilch when it comes to futbol and Josh’s daughters have played more soccer than I ever have. But the curse applies to the Josh as he won the top dog prize. The balance of the universe is righted as his previous football prowess is shriveling up as the weeks go by. I wonder if he’ll cry about something about waiver wire pick ups. As for me, I suffered though WTF is going on at work when the box score had Derrick Ward scoring for the Texans instead of the Arian Nation. I keep Krotchua’s winless streak going. But all is not well in Kardashian ville as Run DMC looks like he’s done his yearly injury and old Steve Smith is injured w/ no clear return date on an offensively crippled team. At least I have Jamal Charles and the next Shanahan sensation in Ryan Torain. I also have 3 TE’s. Anyone want to trade a WR?
The Pats put up 41 and Brady and Hernandez only give me 14?
I’m sure that Sho to the Mizzo was wondering how that could have happened? Well the Fins got Chung’d that night. Everybody Pat Chung tonite. I still say that I’m not impressed w/ your team Sho. Your love for ex Gators and rookie RB’s is a weakness. Even after the Lynch Mob’s trade, do you think CJ would get drafted before round 8? His value for the Bills is related to his special teams ability this year. Once he knows how to pass protect, he’ll be the featured back. It will be on the talent less Bills and he’ll have a target on his back, but he’ll eventually be worth a 5th round pick. Randy’s trade will help Hernandez but will hurt Brady’s deep ball abilities. Vishnal continues the LDT is back chant. I thought that he’d do well w/ the Jets but not as great as he’s been. But you didn’t escape unscathed Vishy. LaShady has a broken rib and PT Cruiser still looks like he’ll be out. Maroney is still garbage too.
Welcome to the upper half of the league, Tim.
Fantasy BBall playoff edition success and now you’re in the upper half of the league w/ a win against division leader, Vishnal. It means if you end up w/ the same record and you beat him again, then you get the tie breaker. But what you have is a very hot QB in Rivers and 2 workhorses in Gore and Mendenhall. Hopefully, you'll take my advice and pick up a RB wednesday night b/c Mendenhall is on a bye this week. I have no advice on Sims Walker Texas Ranger. He might be the bane of your existence where he only performs when he's on your bench. Hi Ash. Ray Rice called. He said that you shouldn't cheat w/ him on Madden b/c it jinxes him in real life. Think of having the eternal boner whenever you dance w/ a girl.
Mark wins.
I wonder if this is what Shen thinks he's doing to us w/ his fantasy skills. Vick's injury has the added effect of diminishing Desean's impact which adds onto VDW's pain. At least you had the foresight to add Kolb as insurance and All Day is off his bye. Hopefully, the addition of Randy means less guys in the box for All Day to beat. I don't know why Colston and the Saints have struggled to look anything like last year's scoring machine. Maybe it's the Madden cover. Meanwhile, the Shenanigans keep motoring along thanks to the Rodgers and Bradshaw. Megatron even made an appearance for Shen. Shen also the Beast to help him out though he hasn't had the consistency that Shen typically loves. He's bound to go off and I think it will be back at home on turf against the Rams. I can't believe that a Stanfurd Carduhnal is going to use 2 Cal Bears to beat me. Disgusting.
The whole idea of picking your own division was the hope that it would spark more interest in the league and weekly games. As you all know, I can't stand apathy b/c it leads to boredom which will make me want out of the league. It also gives the lesser teams a chance to shape their own destiny. The Vish division looks like the strongest divison so far. All 4 teams are in the upper half of the league in scoring. They have been their own worst enemies. The top picks division w/ 4 of the top 6 picks in the draft isn't aptly named b/c I'm on top and have had the most consistency. The other guys division has failed to live up to the King Kong vs Godzilla b/c Josh has been absent.

Your newsletter for week 3.
Sho must have smiled to see the Razorbacks keep it so close against the Tide. Unfortunately, I don’t think that the Gators have enough offense to keep things tight like the Razorbacks did. I wonder how upset the Shen household was w/ the Bruin beat down of the Horns. I wonder if Bridget knew that this helps Shen’s Cardinal. This is usually the weekend where we talk about Red Rivers and Meyer vs. Saban for national title implications. Instead the national talk is about the importance of Oregon speed vs. Cardinal strength. Good Luck Shen. I want to be massive underdogs against you. Congrats to VDW’s Spartans. Do you think that you’ll be able to slow down Heisman favorite Shoelace Robinson?
It’s a shame that someone had to lose this game.
Meg = VDW. Stewie=Mola Ram= Bleemia. VDW and Ben squared off in a true battle of the titans. The last quarters of 2 games decided this battle. Peyton to Collie has been Ben’s theme song for the year and it was rang early and often. It was also the last TD for the Colts. For those of you who didn’t see the game, coach McDaniels has a pair and doesn’t mind sticking his neck out. He went for it on 4th and goal on 2 separate drives instead of going for the chip FG. It would have meant that the Broncos were down 19-20 before the last TD to Collie. But it would have meant the Broncos were within 1 score instead of 2. The Seahawks continue to be very strong at home/the Chargers continue to stumble out of the gate. Rivers to Gates was the theme on the game tying TD prior to the Seahawks kick off return for game winning TD. Oh yeah, Gates was still getting love on the failed last drive by the Chargers. The 2nd coming of Vick has been the key to VDW’s resurgence. He destroyed the Jags which doesn’t say much. How does Kolb get a shot to start unless Vick does a complete 180 at this point? I wonder if VDW has a Vick jersey. I wonder how hard Ben was cheering for his Beagles this week. VDW gets the loss but shouldn’t despair w/ Vick to Vishawn working so well. All Day is carrying the Vikings for you too. You just need Ronnie B to play better or not against strong run defenses.
It’s a shame that someone had to win this week.
On the flip side of things, Kras continued his Mojo of low scoring affairs and I ended up getting the jinx. I’m blaming Kras for making me choose the wrong players to start this week. My bench did far better than my starters this week. I’m also abandoning my 9ers. It hurts too much. Someone make me an offer for Vernon. At least I have 3 horses at RB and the happiest passing offense led by the K.O. kid. Kras finally tastes defeat and deserves to w/ another low score. I’m not trying to pile on Kras but you can only get lucky for so long w/ such low scores. I believe that Mojo and Fitz are injured and they’re both stuck on mediocre offenses. I know that you won’t read this but I suggest starting Matty Ice against my 9ers next week. He should put up 20 points easy. You should also start the Falcon D and wait for turnovers to happen.
FYI, Favre looks horrible.
WTF? Where is Towns? Is he too busy being dad times 2 to realize that Favre has been horrible this year. The Lions are bad but do you think that they’re the insta-cure for all ailing QB’s? Sir, you’re thinking of the 9ers. If big E had no other options, it would make some sort of sense but he has red hot Cutler. And no porous D can help Berrian. I don’t know why he’s even on your roster. Well you deserve to be 0-3 for all of your decision making. Ash gets the win but we’ll see if he loses Andre and Rice due to injuries. Romo goes on a bye and I wonder what the roll of the dice will give him. He’s lucky that he’s set to face T squared who believes in benching his best WR. I don’t get this league sometimes. I hope that it’s not indifference. The video has nothing to do w/ this piece but I wanted to say that I've Rick Rolled someone.
Does Krotchua feel like someone has done this to his car?
Oh how the mighty have fallen. I’ll be saying that at the end of the year if Krotchua finally misses the playoffs. Poor Josh. He had an incredible game last week but came up incredibly lame this week. It’s just like S Jax. He can go from great to limping just like that. He’s now 0-3. We’ll see if all my smack talk will get back at me since I play him next. Sho gets the sweet taste of victory and is incredibly proud of his Gator Hernandez. He’s caught the eye of that ever so dashing Brady w/ his Beiber hair cut. We may have finally found a TE for the Pats offense. I’m still not that impressed w/ your team though due to your lack of RB’s. I really loved Shonn in the preseason but he’s been under whelming and LDT has shown life once again. It sure looks like a RBBC for the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets!!!
Is it a shame that Tim won?
It’s a good question to ask. TT sat Anquan who exploded for the week and needed the services of Knox on MNF to seal the victory. I can’t see why he’d sit Boldin. At least Vishnal has some logic to his decisions. But Vish is Vish and it’s hard to see him have success at anything…sports related so I was rooting for Tim. While the 9ers look bad, they keep giving Gore the ball so I think that he’ll produce week. Like me, Tim needs to find a D. Unlike me, he also needs to find a TE. If he ever got his act together, the Murmurs would be a force to recon with. Vish is giving payback to the rest of division for picking on him.
What about Jennings?
This must have been a very painful game for AshTownKoch to watch. I wonder if he thought that he was seeing a big F U on the screen. Shenanigans slowly kept inching closer and closer w/ each pass from Rodgers to Finley. Jennings got a TD but didn’t get many looks. Cliff even had Forte in this game but he couldn’t get anything going on the ground or air. Cliff just needs to hang in there until Ben returns. It’s a long season and Beanie and Matthews have a lot of long term potential IF they stay healthy. Shen continues to be Shen. Jahvid didn’t go off but he had enough for the win from the team for the win.

Your newsletter for week dos.
Geez VDW, your coach really gives his all for the game. Great game and finish though it was technically w/ 00 on the play clock. But it was against Notre Dame so it’s all good all the time. Hopefully, coach Dantonio will be okay. The other great game from the weekend had Arizona jumping early against Iowa, get caught from behind but able to finish the Hawkeyes in the end. I put Auburn/Clemson as the 3rd best game because the finish was a missed kick versus Auburn doing something to win in the end. No big surprises for the top teams though Air Force put a big scare in the folks in Norman. For our league, Kansas came back down to earth after upsetting Go Jackets. Cal’s off to their usual fraud season. Stanford’s Luck looks really good and has clearly surpassed Locker for the best QB in the draft. Ryan Mallet has now passed Locker. I root for QB play in the hopes that my 9ers will find a QB some day. But I’m torn b/c Mallet’s coach is a douche. Speaking of douches, Lane Kiffin believes it’s a video game and goes for the 2 point conversion as an F U b/c he has nothing to lose. Speaking of losing, if you’re ineligible then you can’t win an award. But if we’re talking about the Heisman, don’t all eyes have to look to Ann Arbor these days? He’s responsible for like 500 million yards of total offense. He actually looks like he can throw the ball like a pro QB too. Texas avenged their loss to the Red Raiders but sure looked like they were asking to lose. The Gators continued their mastery of checkerboard U but didn’t come alive until the 2nd half.
Godzilla meets King Kong.
I want to see Joshua reenact the video w/ his daughters. I The battle between the Krotchua and Shensenstein was the high powered battle that we all expected. Josh bounced back after a horrible week 1 but was unable to take advantage of Schaub’s come back against Sho’s Skins. He also had the Polumalu led Steelers D to help him out but in the end, his WR’s disappointed him just like his Cows. Garcon and especially Crabtree have been large let downs. I can see Garcon coming back b/c of Peyton. I would love to have faith in Alex Smith but my eyes say no. Josh falls to 0-2 and while it’s still very early in the season, he really needs a win to go w/ a loss from 2-0 Shen. If the opposite happens, he’ll be 3 games behind and thoughts of wild cards will start dancing in his head. Shen’s looking good w/ Jahvid Beast leading the way. His talent has never been a question, his health has. Time will tell. Rodgers has lived up to his 1st round billing. Geez. 2 Cal Bears may end up being the key to a Stanford Cardinal’s success.
Vish has a receipt and he’s cashing it in on the horse that he rode in on.
Vish was picked on to create his division. Maybe it’s b/c Vish gets no respect. Maybe it’s b/c Vish has a huge self created target on his back. Maybe it’s nature taking it’s due course. Regardless of the reason, Vish is looking good at 2-0 and on top of his division. To top it off, he used Bleemia’s own LaShady as the key to the win. I don’t if he’s happier w/ his Texans or his own undefeated streak. If Andre misses time, he even has Jacoby to pick up the slack. Good San Diego living Vish. Ben could have got the win this week if he was able to read the tea leaves and guess that Beanie would sit and Hightower would have a big day against (insert the Simpsons old joke…the Atlanta Falcons). Speaking of Falcons, I wonder if Bleemia is doing a Turner get well chant w/ Lauren these days.
I shouldn’t listen to Dennis.
Some people were wondering if T squared realized that the season already started as evidenced by his benching of Anquan. I wonder if this picture had something to do w/ it.
I suggested that Tim start Anquan, Dez, and Knox. I’m sorry that Dez didn’t do as well as Walker Texas Ranger, but I believed that the Cows would put on a show at home against the Bears. But in my defense, Dez scored but on special teams. It wasn’t enough against VDW but would have been against ½ the league and division rivals Vishnal and Bleemia. T squared has some high potential at wide receiver. He could end up w/ his best team this year. The win goes to VDW and his Spartans. I hope that VDW didn’t get as emotionally invested as coach Dantonio. VDW should be ecstatic w/ this week’s results minus his coach. He has Vick and while he won’t be playing the Lions each week, he’s pretty good trade value. The added benefit is his arm. Vick can throw the deep bomb that Kolb can’t which means good things for Desean’s home runs. Maybe this will keep VDW from crying in his beer each week.

At least my Texans won.
Cliff loses but while Portis’s 2 goal line TDs hurt him in fantasy, it wasn’t enough in reality. I’m sure that Cliff will take it. I wonder how much longer he can take the questions at QB. It’s only 3 more weeks before Big Ben comes back but he’ll be playing a guessing game at QB w/ Hasselbeck and Kolb. For the record, I like Kolb and Flacco has looked just as bad. At least you have some depth at RB so you can deal w/ Matthews’ injury if it’s bad. You might want to pick another D next week since your Texans will be hosting the Cows, unless you want to root against your own team as a sacrifice to the NFL gods. I would sacrifice Massaquoi to the bench in favor of Macklin though. Sho gets the win but still looks less than stellar. The Pats won’t be playing the Jets next week so Brady should bounce back but will Harvin? You can’t be explosive if you have a bum hip and you have a bum QB. Get the shovels out and try to bury him and see if he’ll stay dead. Cliff reads the most comic books out of all of us so I thought Spider Man would be appropriate for him. You'll have to ask him about the "vibrator" weapon. Doreen has been out of town for quite a bit so he might be a little lonely so he shouldn't be judged.
I have pains in my heart.
Seeing my 9ers give the game away to the Saints sucks a lot more than losing to Ashhhhholes for the 2nd time this week. He’s a rampant cheater at Madden. The Saints kept leaving the door open for a 9er victory but my boys just don’t know how to win. I was glad to see come level of competency from Alexia Smith. I still don’t believe in him though. I still can’t believe the under usage of Jamal Charles. He only has ½ of the Td’s scored on offense of the team and has twice as many YPC than the “starter” Thomas Jones. Flacco has been a disappointment but I think he’ll get better as the year goes a long. Thankfully, I have the K.O. kid. Ash put in a huge week w/ a large nod to the H town come back posse. Andre bounced back and Rackers was on like Donkey Kong.
Knoshown and Ray Rice had big games too. Top score honors were denied thanks to Shenanigans’ Bradshaw on SNF.

I’m on top of the division?
Unlike your mascot who got mounted, you are on top Kras.
Kras sits on top of his division. I don’t know if it’s good living or living luckily. He scored the 3rd lowest of the week and has the 3rd lowest total points for the league. But when it comes to fantasy, whom you play each week is just as big as what your team does. Good for you Kras. I’m still unimpressed w/ your team so far. We’ll see how I eat my words. Big E plummeted back down to Earth after his mega score last week. He still had a chance at winning though but went w/ the old at QB and fell w/ him. I’m pretty sure that it’s Jay all the way until Favre shows some life. Hillis was a great pick up and I’m stunned that he made it all the way to you. You can thank Kras and T squared for that. I don’t think Hillis will have success against the Ravens run D. The Daily Show hasn’t shown much and Felix has been disappointing like the Cows so I don’t know what you’ll do at your 2nd RB this week. But on the other hand, I think you’re set at WR w/ Nicks, Walter, and Santana. I predict a win versus the evil Asssholes this week for you.

Welcome Back Football!!!
It was a great weekend of college football. A school named after a president beat Virginia Tech. Notre Dame lost. Oregon didn’t let the Pac 12 down against an SEC team. I love it when David beats Goliath. The only negative w/ James Madison’s win is how Boise St. will suffer in the polls. The most entertaining game had the Irish vs. the Wolverines. Denard Robinson w/ 5 billion yards of total offense. Damn!!! The Irish almost had one of their storied wins as Crist came back and put life back into the Irish attack. It was surreal to hear, “Montana drops back...” VDW, I hope your defense is strong enough or that your offense can keep up. I don’t know why people were excited about the Bama/Penn St game. Did anyone outside of Pennsylvania think that the Nittany LIons stand a chance even w/ the back up RB for the Tide playing? I think that he’s better than the started. I also don’t know why people were so excited about a Buckeye/Cane rematch. But it was hard for me to hear the words, “ Ohio St has too many athletes for the U. “ What??? Vinny Testaverde is rolling over in his grave. Ryan Mallett is sticking his name in the Luck vs Locker debate. Not much of a debate so far btw. Locker has the physical tools but hasn’t shown the accuracy or ability to win. For Sho, Lattimore is getting a lot of luv from the press. Cal’s next best player looks to be Keenan Allen. He doesn’t have the quick twitch of Desean and Jahvid but is bigger and very talented.
Arian Nation, Baby!!!
The game of the week was truly a clash of heavyweights as described by Shen. Big E is the tallest and I have the most pounds per square inch. Doh! It’s unfortunate that the loser of this bout would end up getting the 2nd highest score of the week. But as I’ve said before, whom you play is incredibly important. The fantasy darling after week 1 is the Texans workhorse back but his numbers were b/c of whom they played as well. You play keep away from Peyton as long as possible as we learned from the Saints in the Superbowl. I expect the Texans to be a successful passing team for the season but the addition of a stud RB means playoffs. Cliff and Vish may not like the fact that I have H town’s favorite player right now but they will gladly take it. While Arian’s production (1/3 of my team) was herculean, I needed more to beat our 6’7” behemoth from Nebraska. CJ2K was actually “held in check” for most of the Raiders game except for a 70 yard TD run. Hakeem “the Dream” Nicks got 3 TD’s much to Big E’s delight. Reports from VDW were that Towns was giddy like a school girl even though it was at the expense of his hometown Panthers. Boo!!! Jay Cutler put up big points though it was against the lowly Lions defense. Once again Big E roots against his own as ex Husker Suh is now a Lion. Double boo!!! As usual Dallas got Peyton’s love too. How do you beat such evil? By unleashing the Arian nation and getting big games from Miles ( http://www.buzztab.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/kim-kardashian1.jpg I just won the prize of the week w/ this routine. Do you think that I’m changing it now?? You’re nucking futz if you do. ) It came down to Monday night’s 2nd game as Jamal Charles had a big run despite coach Haley’s decision to give more touches to Thomas “I’m a good soldier and locker room influence so ignore my paltry 3.5 ypc vs Jamal’s 8.4 ypc” Jones. My team wasn’t all good though as my beloved 49ers stunk up the joint and my def had -1 to the talentless Seahawks. Embarrassing!!! Towns shouldn’t spend much time on this disappointment b/c Grant may have suffered a bad ankle injury and he scored too many points to get a good waiver wire spot to get ex Husker Brandon Jackson. Karma, thou art a beeeatchh!!!
2 F’ing Yards!!!!
The closest game was actually between the I hate vulturing McGahee vs. Sorry, Ashish. I honestly thought that I was going to lose so I went to bed early and woke up w/ a good surprise. 2 yards is the equivalent of less than a Big E falling down. It’s all he needed to win. He needed less than an equivalent of me to just tie. I’m sure Asholes are quite upset this week. He’ll say something like, “ WTF Andre or stupid Alex Barron and his last second (strangle)hold.” (Sho smiles.) If Ash misses the playoffs by 1 game, he can easily point to this one. He lost by 0.1 points. Maybe next time he’ll start Scheffler over Andre. Ha! Man, I would be sooooo angry right now if I were Ash. I wonder how much he loves his 2 out of the top 6 picks in the draft now. FYI, they scored 9.5 points for you. The first 4 picks of mine each scored more than that. Man, Ash should be so angry right now. Kras, with all sincerity, will apologize over his meek win. But win by 0.1 or win by 20. You still get the win Kras. Congrats. The Pats D was a great pick if even for 1 game. Honestly, I thought they’d be lousy this year. Gaffney could have a very solid though unspectacular year. You should have some worry though b/c Fitz is playing at a lesser level due to injuries. And you need all the ability that you can get when you get Derek “inaccurate as hell” Anderson putting your body at risk. And once again, Gonzales is hurt. (insert part where VDW goes on about his disgust.)
Will Someone Please Tell Tim to Set His Lineups??
Maybe that’s too harsh b/c Tim may have intentionally sat Anquan Boldin in fear of Revis. But wasn’t afraid of Kenny Britt going against the 2nd best cover corner, Asomugha? The problem is that it’s a competitive league for $ so other people may get upset at the end of the year if some teams get into the playoffs b/c some people don’t set lineups. Bleemia gets the win but could have easliy got the loss if Boldin played instead of Britt or the equally ineffective Sims Walker Texas Ranger. You won’t read this so I’ll text you the players to go for on waivers this week. Bleemia gets the win as Peyton hurried up and scored (doesn’t anyone else think that Ben jobbed Tim by drafting him 1 spot before?) and Wes proved his Wolverine like healing abilities. Incredibly, Ben sat his first 2 draft picks due to match ups and was half right. Jerome did well at the end of last year but new GM Holmgren doesn’t believe in him. Peyton Hillis who? At least Bleemia still has Collie and Breaston to put in next week. I don’t know what to do about the Bungles defense though. I think it’s an aberration and that they’ll be good next week. They can’t be much worse. Right?
Vish wins and his Texans win = happy Vish.
Vish gets a blowout win over VDW as Vishy gets very good production from 5 players and a spectacular day from the Ocho. His “disappointment” was from Brees. If Vish gets this kind of steady numbers, he’ll be a scary force for the whole season. Obviously, you’d rather have a whole team producing instead of just 2 or 3 guys blowing up each week. Once again, I tip my hat to you sir and tell you to suck my b@!!$. VDW is left to his own sorrows. Maybe you should think of it as fantasy futbol and it would make you better. Or maybe as Shen says, who did VDW pick? I guess that team’s going to suck this year. In fairness, he said the same thing about Ash. While you didn’t score much, it would have beat 4 other teams. If you look inside the numbers, All Day did well considering his lack of touches in the 2nd half. He’ll have much better days against lesser defenses. As a former Colston owner, I can tell you how frustrating the Saints offense can be. Brees will spread it out but at least Colston usually has the most targets. Inside the numbers, the Saints went w/ a heavy rush attack in the 2nd half so Colston’s numbers had to suffer. All of the Falcons had a bad day against the Polumalu led Steelers D. If there’s one thing to worry about, it would be Desean. I knew that his numbers relied on the deep ball and I didn’t think that Kolb had the arm for it. I also don’t trust Vick’s accuracy. Roddy never had great numbers w/ Vick either, though Roddy was just starting out then.
Stafford...noooooooooooo........
Shen gets the win but could lose the war if Stafford’s injury negatively impacts Megatron and Jahvid. And worse call ever since the last worse call ever in the Lions/Bears game. I really do root for Detroit and I was sipping the Kool Aid. But some places are just cursed aka Clippers. Megatron catches the last second game winning TD from the back up QB by outjumping the DB and obviously securing the ball w/ his 1 hand like Vish does w/ his little Vish and lands w/ 2 feet in the endzone. Horrible...absolutely horrible. If 10 guys in a bar think it’s a TD, it’s a TD. Thank you Madden. I think Nanunanu will get a start next week until D Bowe starts to show some rapport w/ Cassel. Shen will be licking his lips over the Ahmad vs Colts D next week. Shen may even go to an all Giants backfield. Sho goes down and it sure looked like Brady was the only person to sho up this week. Greene’s butter fingers has Rex talking about a split backfield now. Doh! FYI, Portis sucks, Braylon sucks, and Maroney sucks. These have been words uttered by fantasy owners over the last few years. Why don’t you learn, Sho? After week 1, I’m looking good in my CJ Spiller call. Bills suck and CJ is no Barry Sanders.
Matt Forte = fantasy goodness.
At least for 1 week, Forte was great. But if you look at his numbers, he got 2 big plays against the lowly Lions. If you take those 2 plays away, his numbers look mediocre. But he got a lot of touches and that’s very important in fantasy. Ryan Matthews didn’t explode like most thought but I think that it was due to playing from behind and the weather. He’ll eventually make you proud. I wouldn’t buy into Massoquooidsoooquijibo though. He had 1 big play for a TD. I learned that lesson last year. But start Macklin regardless of who’s at QB. I wonder if you’ll be lucky enough to get Vick on waivers. Krotchua’s team played like he does when he’s drunk at the poker table. He would have been doubled up if he had played either Big E or myself. S Jax is already hurt. Crabtree and Garcon had some bad drops. Crabtree still has Alex Smith throwing to him. How do I have a disdain for Alex Smith? Let me count the ways. He plays best in the shot gun b/c he can’t read the defenses quick enough. The shot gun means Gore suffers. Smith is inaccurate. Smith doesn’t have the stones to lead the team. He also makes bad decisions. He must have a video of the owner in a pagan/bestiality gone wild party to still have a job.
It's a no brainer for the first 4. T squared has the 5 spot and it will boil down to the magazine or the print out from the ESPN website when he drafts. It's been a toss up between Gore, Johnson, and Turner from what I've seen. Since this is my mock, I'll say that he goes w/ Gore. If there's something more powerful than the curse of 370 carries, it's Vish's weird magical bizarro fantasy karma. You can't stop it, you can only hope to contain it. Shen takes the most consistent production from a winning team. You might argue that he could be there for Shen in round 2 but I doubt it given Fitz's dropping stock. I originally had Sho going back to back WR w/ his first picks but Fitz aka the Cardinals QB can't be trusted w/ this high a pick. Rodgers offers the best value and I'm pretty sure that Sho's website agrees.

It's a wide receiver fantasy world and we're just living in it. RBBC and our league's flex use of WR/TE drives this round. Vish goes w/ Desean in a win/win situation. If Desean explodes, he wins. If Desean implodes, he can say how Cal sucks over and over again. Shen will pipe in about how he can't draft a Cal player b/c of being burned by Gonzo in the past. Tim goes back to his roots.

The TE's start here as Ash goes w/ an old favorite. The rest of the RB's go here. VDW buys into his Lions revitalized offensive attack. Cliff gets his heart broken as Vish snags Arian Foster 1 spot before his pick. The words "damn Vish" are echoed in the Buffalo Wild Wings.Foster was a sleeper until Ben Tate got knocked out for the season 2 weeks ago. If we didn't have the H town contingent, there might have been a chance that he lasted till the 5th.This puts Cliff in an interesting dilemma. He could bypass on Brees in round 2 and take a WR which means that he could go w/ his heart and take Foster in the early part of round 3. It all depends on how he feels w/ his choice of Desean, Rodney, or B Marshall to go w/ S Jax and Adrian Foster but w/ a question mark a QB. Or does he feel better w/ SJax, Brees and his choice of the Steve Smiths or Boldin but no hometown Foster.

There are question marks listed b/c I envision Josh and Cliff making their picks w/ the inflection at the end which shows how you can sway them a certain way depending on how much of an ass I decide to be when they are about to make their picks. There are actually quite a few great value picks in this round due to the run on QB's and WR's. This is the round where people have to make some tough decisions when the piece of paper in front of them doesn't match their needs based on unfilled starting positions. Do you reach for a Santana Moss at the end of round 6 or start to get back ups for your RB's.

Shen steals Sho's plan of taking Big Ben and having another QB take him through the first 4 weeks of the season. The only problem w/ this strategy is not picking a 3rd RB until round 9 which leaves you very susceptible to a Cedric Benson over usage injury. B2 is a trendy pick these days due to Sidney Rice's hip surgery. Santonio Holmes could be substituted for many of the last WR's taken but it's been hard for me to get his value due to his suspension and my lack of confidence in Mark Sanchize right now. You all know my thoughts/feelings towards Braylon. Roy Williams is another player that's hard for me to gauge due to the eventual arrival of Dez and the lack of fluidity in the Cows starting offense in the preseason. Less Evans is still less.
8 rounds of mock draft and analysis for you suckerducks. I hope you all appreciate it and realize that I'm also using Jedi mind tricks half of the time. We'll see who the weak minded are in a little more than a week. Next week's Wednesday at 6pm Dallas time. We'll use google messenger. Sho, Cliff and I will be at the Buffalo Wild Wings up in Addison. Good luck to our Vegas crew. "Let's make some money" is code for Vish is about to clean up. Krotchua, don't drink and play no limit
poker. Bleemia, I'll text you if I can figure out some good bets. Tim, if you are doing our alma matter bets again, thanks. I'll have to figure out what Cal can do.
Created while heading back to Dallas in the new Toyota Highlander. So far, no sticky brakes. I hope that the adjustment period won't be too long from my 2 door honda civic to what's a tank for me. I can see the road in front of me now but I'm getting used to the much longer turning radius. I looked at the espn auction for free agent ability. As much as Krotchua would love it, I don't think that we can do it b/c it processes claims on the next day that's been set. This means that you can't make a pick up on game day when you find out that Knowshon pulled a hamstring in warm ups and your back ups are on a bye. Konichiwa beeatches!!!

My thoughts from Lafayette
I'm here in Lafayette, La visiting the new nephew. He's a little over a month and Les spend 1 night feeding him so she could get a small taste of what's to come. She tapped out very early as her mom helped her w/ the feedings and cryings and changings throughout the night. I said that the night wasn't the test but the next day when you had to do it again and then the next night. She said F no and I laughed. Her baby fever may have been cured for a few months.
Here are some random thoughts:
As Alex Smith has displayed, you don't have to be a great or even good QB in order to have some timing w/ your receivers. He displayed it w/ Vernon Davis last year. I wonder if Leinart or Derek Anderson has been able to do the same in the off season w/ Fitzgerald. If not, I'd really hate to own Fitzgerald this year. In fact, I see him dropping in the 2nd round and stopping at Kras.
I don't know what the hype surrounding Cutler is all about. I know what Martz once did. Once upon a time, I was able to drink hard liquor for a night and repeat it the next day. That was then, this is now. I haven's seen or read anything that makes me think that the Bears offensive line has improved. In fact, I blame them for my horrible Forte pick of greatness last year. I say that Cutler will be more tackle dummy than either Warner or Bulger or Trent Green.
Josh shouldn't be too nervous about his Cowgirls. Their offense has looked horribly inept but once they get back the 2/5 of their starting offensive line back, they'll be good again. They have too many weapons not to be an offensive juggernaut. But my Romo will be fantasy god prediction sure looks to have less merit right now. Josh might even go w/ Schaub in the beginning of round 3 instead of Romo now.
The preponderance of RBBC makes me think that we may have 4 WR's get drafted in round 1 of our league. Despite what Shen has said, history says that he and Josh won't take a QB in rounds 1 or 2. I say that Vish and Cliff should hold off on taking Rodgers or Brees in round 1. Take the next best player that they like and there's a fair chance that they'll be available in round 2. The only wild card would be Soumya. But I believe that he'll hold off on a QB and point to his success in Favre last year. If Soumya bypasses on the QB's in the first 6 rounds, I think I know where he'll be going. Previous to Wisenhunt's decision to start Derek Anderson for week 3's preseason game, I thought that Sho would go Fitz and Megatron w/ his picks at 12 and 13. Now I think that he'll go Megatron and the RB of his choice. I predict that Shen and Josh will take Reggie Wayne and Miles Austin w/ their picks in round 1.
I really don't like how late we're drafting this year for my own selfish reason. A lot of my sleepers and deep sleepers are getting too much hype now. I'm just glad that most of you will be using fantasy magazines w/ 3-4 week old information.
I'm off to San Francisco on Tuesday as Les and I visit more new babies. As Sho would say...ciao bitches.

My top 10 list mixed w/ B.S. galore...
1) Adrian Peterson- Regardless of he who’s name will not be spoken’s upteenth retirement or not, All Day should be #1 overall pick. He’s a workhorse w/ the ability to bring it to the house every time he has the ball. While there are durability and turnover questions, he’s been the most consistent of the top RB’s throughout the last few years so he gets top dog status.
2) Ray Rice- He was my MVP last year and that was w/ McGahee vulturing TD’s left and right. The offense is improved w/ Flacco’s development and Boldin’s arrival so I think he’ll get more shots to get the endzone. I also refuse to believe that McGahee can steal so many TD’s this year which leads me to think that he should get the #2 spot. I’m also asian and my peeps have been down for rice for a long long time so there’s a heavy bias here.
3) CJ2K- At least I think that’s his nickname after last years 2000 yards rushing performance. I’m probably the only fool to have him ranked this low especially w/ his ability to catch the ball. I have a healthy gut though and it tells me that he won’t have as awesome a season as last year. No logic, just my beer belly.
4) Mojo- He’s a scoring machine and “if” the Jags offense can be more efficient, he should have more TD’s. If not, he’ll still get a lot of yards for you w/ some TD’s sprinkled in.
5) Gore- I’m biased once again given my SF roots. But I truly believe in Gore once again. He’ll miss a few games due to his running style but when it’s all said and done, I believe that the 49ers offense can’t be anymore inept than last year. This means more TD’s for Gore, Gore, Gore !!!
6) multiple tie
Turner- There’s a 370 theory that ESPN’s Tristan Cockcroft wrote about. Here’s the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?page=nfldk2k10curseof370
Basically it says that outside of a younger LDT, Dickerson, and Emmitt Smith; no runner has been able to have a top season after 370 carries in a season. Now Turner is supposed to be lighter and healthier and the Falcons will still be a run based offense from all accounts. They also have a nice schedule. So a lot of people believe that he’ll bounce back. But I try to follow history and I’m afraid to go against it w/ a top 10 pick.
S Jax- He put up a 1700+ total yards for the season for 3rd best for RB’s. Unfortunately, the Rams offense was so anemic that it was somewhere between goth and ghost. His supporters say that he has to get more TD’s than last year. His detractors say that he’s a RB who just had surgery for a bulging disk and that there’s nothing to say that the offensive line has greatly improved. Add a rookie QB and it’s hard to get jazzed by the offense. Wouldn’t you just stack the line and run blitz and force Bradford to prove himself first? At least the Rams have a favorable schedule and it would have been more so if they could face themselves.
D-Will- Time share. Whatever. Missed 3 games. No biggie. Imploding QB. So what? None of this deterred him from quite a year. He’s also in a contract year. Bingo!!!
9) Mendenhall- He didn’t break his shoulder and had a great run at the end of the year. The belief is that the Steelers will feature him as long as Big Ben is suspended (4-6 games, likely 4). They lost their best run blocker though due to injury and while Flozell performed well in this department for the Cows last year, there was a good reason why no one picked him up until the last few weeks. He’s old and is a flag machine. If this was the equivalent to futbol, he’d be suspended every other game.
10) Greene- Everyone and their Mom has a crush on the Jets this year. I’m not as optimistic especially if Revis holds out into the season. But I do believe that the Greene Machine will put up big numbers as long as he’s healthy. He’ll be going behind one of the best rush offensive lines and they will be feeding him the ball. As long as he stays healthy, I think he’ll be a top guy at the end of the season. When I say healthy, I mean missing only 2 games or so versus gone or hobbled for a chunk of the season
1) Andre Johnson- He was a beast and that was w/o a consistent running attack. Schaub was able to stay on the field for the season though he was banged up for awhile. My only problem w/ him is that he’ll be going against Oakland’s Ashmougnaghshiniini (Go Cal!) and Revis island. This means at least 2 games w/ high dud potential. It’s a little annoying to think that your pick in round 1 will have a better than average chance for 2 dud games that’s not due to injury.
2) Randy Moss- The Pats seem to be older but it’s still hard to believe that Belicheat and Brady can’t figure out how to put points on the board. The Pats running game is inconsistent so the thought is that Moss will get the ball a bit and especially in the end zone. But Revis island lurks times 2.
3) Wayne- He has Peyton. The Colts can move the ball. Even w/ multiple targets for Manning, you have to think that Reggie will still get love in the end zone.
4) Fitzgerald- So it’s hard to figure out his value this year. He’s immensely talented and doesn’t have to share the ball w/ Boldin anymore. But he’s lost Warner and Leinart has been a disappointment. The Cards are supposed to be more run based this year as well. I have no clue.
5) Megatron- Luv Megatron. H8 his injury history. But I believe that the Lions will be better this year. It’s not saying much, but I believe that he’ll get more TD’s this year on top of his yardage.
6) Miles Austin- He’s going out w/ Kim Kardashian. History says that the Cows are destined for a championship. It doesn’t mean that he’ll have an awesome year though. I think that he’ll have a very good one though sprinkled w/ some lesser games due to Romo spreading the luv.
7) Jennings- I’m probably the only person who has him ranked this high. I just think that the Packers will have a good offense and that he can’t have as few TD’s this season as last.
8) Marshall- No one believes that he’ll have as many receptions b/c the Dolphins offense is supposed to be more run based for now as Henne develops. I think that he’ll have more TD’s though which means his fantasy value will be high. He has 2 games against Revis though which isn’t good. But 1 will be earlier in the season so if Revis holds out, he may miss the island. But the 2nd game will be in week 14. If you don’t know, you better ask somebody.
9) D-Jax- Once again, Go Cal! He’s a 50 yard TD waiting to happen. The question will be if Kolb can hit him w/ the deep ball. It’s a good question to ask. Until I can see it, I have to rank him lower b/c a lot of Desean’s points were due to the extra long TD.
10) Crabtree- Total homer pick here. I just want to look good if he ends up top 10 WR and you heard it here first. The logic is that defenses will key on Gore and Mt. Vernon. This means Crabtree will get single coverage and his work in the off season w/ Alex Smith equals well timed routes. It’s also illogical to believe in Alex Smith so this ranking goes under total homer pick.
1) Romo- I’m the only person w/ him ranked this high. I just think that he has too many weapons on offense. Even if new LT Doug Free is less than stellar, they can give him enough help by keeping the TE or RB to help w/ blocking and still have enough skill positions to beat the other team. I really loved Dez Bryant and was on record screaming for the 49ers to take him in the draft. Miles will be very good to great. Witten is a safety blanket. Barber will return to pre 2009 form. Felix is a home run threat. Roy may suck but even he had something like 7 TD’s last year. Prior to Dez’s injury, there was word that Crayton might get cut for financial reasons. Crayton may not be great but he’d be #2 Wr for a lot of teams out there. I also think that the Cows defense can force a lot of TO’s which means more opportunities for Romo.
2) Rodgers- He continues to improve on last year’s 2nd half run after he stopped holding the ball as long and taking too many sacks. He’ll put up numbers once again. And once again, Go Cal! The only caveat is that he plays in Green Bay so I worry about the potential of snowstorm games galore which limits scoring.
3) Brees- So when was the last time that the NFC representative in the Super Bowl had a great following season? I don’t know b/c I’m too lazy to look it up. I say that a lot of things fell for the Saints last year. Too many things I say. Perhaps it’s karma for all the plagues of the gulf coast. Maybe if the Saints get some bad luck, things will turn around for the region. I’m not hating, I just feel bad for the peeps.
4) Peyton- He should probably be ranked higher out of respect to his prowess. Super Bowl champ or not, who would you take as the 1st player on your team if could pick anyone out there in real life? Nuff said and by a mile.
5) Schaub- Everyone has some Schaub love this year. I say that aerial attack gets better w/ Jacoby Jones. He’ll have great games sprinkled in w/ duds but I say that he takes over the flanker spot and Kevin Walter takes over the middle as Owen Daniels takes a step back this year. This means Schaub will have a very good year.
6) Rivers- VJ may be gone for awhile but I believe that Norv Turner knows how to help his QB especially w/ enough time. Gates will be there and the combination of Floyd, Naanee, McMichael can make up for VY. Ryan Matthews will be a large upgrade over LDT which means the offense will be able to move the ball. The biggest factor will be the schedule. They play the Chefs and Raiders twice. They also face the Broncos, Seattle and St. Louis once in the fantasy season. This means 7 meaty games. Fatty like meat.
7) Brady- I don’t like the Pats schedule and there’s nothing that makes me think that the offensive line has improved or that the Pats have found a pass rush. I also don’t like their very tough division sans Buffalo. I’m also hating on him for being so underwhelming last year for me.
8) He who’s name will not be spoken- He’s like Jason from Friday the 13th, he’ll be back. It’s only a matter of time and he’ll be just as annoying as ever.
9) Flacco- Apparently, he was more injured than initially revealed in the late part of last year when his numbers fell. Now he has a great possession receiver in Boldin. Ray Rice is still there. He has another offseason of tutelage under Cam Cameron. Me likey.
10) Ryan- Matty Ice will have a very good season. He’ll be average for a lot of games but he’ll also have some very good to awesome games. The Falcons play: Cle, TB (2), Stl, Car, and Sea. I know that it’s foolish to project suckiness for teams in the preseason, but I’m pretty sure that more of them will suck than not.
1) Gates- No VJax means more targets for Gates. Once again, I really like the Chargers schedule.
2) Clark- As long as he’s healthy, he’ll get his share in the Colts attack.
3) Davis- I seriously doubt that he’ll get as many TD’s as last year but he has shown a rapport w/ Alex Smith. He’ll get a lot of targets down field.
4) Celek- West Coast offenses love the TE position. Kolb is supposed to be more accurate than McNabb which will suit Celek very well. They are also roommates.
5) Gonzo- I don’t think that he’ll get a lot of yards but I think that he’ll get a lot of end zone targets especially against the soft Falcons schedule.
6) Finley- The Packers offense marches along and all of Rodgers’ targets will reap the benefits. He’s probably the most athletically gifted of his targets as well.
7) Witten- He’s “downgraded” b/c of the high potential of ball distribution which means less overall targets for Witten.
8) Schinacoe- As soon as he who’s name will not be said returns, more TD’s for the tripod. If you don’t know, google and take off safe search. I didn’t look. I’ve just read things.
9 ) tie Cooley/Fred Davis- Much like the Autobots, Shanahan loves to roll out. The Redskins don’t have the most impressive receivers out there for the inconsistent McNabb. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot of 2 TE sets just to put the best players on the field which means that both these guys will get a lot of opportunities.
2) Ray Rice- He was my MVP last year and that was w/ McGahee vulturing TD’s left and right. The offense is improved w/ Flacco’s development and Boldin’s arrival so I think he’ll get more shots to get the endzone.
