MY SLANT HOPES INFORMATION THOUGHTS

What a surprise. Florida sans eye gouger easily takes care of Vandy. The bigger story is that the eye gouger had the foresight to take himself out of the equation. In his defense, Meyer is paid to win ball games and he's done that quite well over his time in Gainesville. Teaching young men how to deal w/ adversity, responsibility, and protecting them? Not so much. From a football standpoint, outside of Percy, who has produced in the NFL that has come from Florida? Alabama has looked very suspect once again. Defense wins ball games, but an anemic offense sets you up for being one fluke play away from defeat. It also helps when the refs are blowing calls each week. The consequences? The SEC will be assured of having an undefeated team going to the BCS championship game. (Guinness commercial.) Brilliant!!! Colt has started to regain his form but people will be wondering how he'll fare against an SEC defense. Iowa's luck finally failed them. It sets up a winner goes to the Rose Bowl game against Kras's Buckeyes. Sorry Kras, I thought that Iowa was a team of destiny w/ all of their luck and that they would be the lone big 10 school going to a major bowl. Good luck. TCU is on the outside looking in and hoping for a scenario where the 2 out of the 3 teams ahead of them suffer a loss. They probably had their best shot if Bama lost but was able to beat Florida for the SEC championship. Oh well, Horn Frogs. Congrats to Shen on the Cards' big win on the Farm. Harbaugh has looked mighty impressive in his short stay. He's toppled USC when the Cards were 100 million point underdogs. Now they've beat an Oregon team that throttled USC the week before. I don't know if it means mediocrity or parity in the Pac 10. Shen should be worried that NFL teams will be looking to Harbaugh in the near future. As I've said before, we'll lose to Stanfurd which will be painful. At least I'll be in Vegas to drown my sorrows. Tim's Yellowjackets survived a tough overtime win. Triple option baby. Everyone is looking forward to their game against CJ Spiller. Ha, ha, ha. Notre Dame lost to Navy at home. Awesome. For the Bill Simmons fans, I got his basketball book and pretty good read so far. Obvious Celtic bias, but that's not a surprise.
